Quilts safely delivered

Today I rang the Leicester Women's Aid to see if they would like any quilts. Last year they had a pile of quilts which they used as Christmas presents for the children in the Leicester and Hinckley refuges. They were very excited to hear from me, and quickly agreed to have 20 quilts!

Here are the quilts all packed up ready to go.

Last time I delivered quilts in Leicester, I had a terrible time, as half the roads in the city centre were being dug up and the other half were closed, as they were preparing for the opening of the new theatre, the Curve. It was difficult enough to find the place, never mind finding a place to park which was near enough to carry loads of quilts! They may not be heavy, but they're bulky and awkward. This time I was prepared, and despite them closing nearby roads again (Charles Street, in case you're going into Leicester) I got there easily.

Here you can see a lovely Paddington panel, which had been made up by Muriel, being held up by me and a representative from Women's Aid. I think I could have chosen a better place for the photo, but at least it shows something of the trials and tribulations of a Linus rep!
