The first donation of the year came from Carol, and I followed on by completing a pink top which Tina had made from a pattern in a Fat Quarter book.
Then I had a call from Mary, who had 17 quilts for me, which she hadn't made herself, but had ended up in her care by some complicated route, from a group somewhere down south. These quilts are all very child-friendly, with pretty colours and designs. It was so kind of the group to donate them, and also kind of Mary to bring them over.
This cats one is gorgeous (I wonder if I can work out the pattern?),
and quilts made from panels always look good.
While Mary was here, she made time for a coffee and a chat, and she generously shared a fabulous technique for making these windmill squares. The full instructions are here and the beauty of them is that they are made from five squares, of any dimensions! Great for using up charm squares or scraps.
When I went to Rocheberie Quilters there were several quilts for me on the show and tell pile, and Piecemakers had been busy too.
This kaleidoscope quilt was made by Eileen - if you squint, you can see the circles appearing -
and Ann made this lovely square in a square. Thankyou ladies!
Then a lovely parcel arrived - I knew it was lovely before I opened it, firstly because I could tell by the squish that it was a quilt, and secondly because it was from Theresa, who has sent me gorgeous Linus quilts before.
