Here we are, in our usual meeting place outside Frankie and Benny's! (It's halfway for both, and has lots of parking. Plus there are usually people around who will take a photo for us.) This quilt is a beautiful one, with trees, hearts and log cabin. A clever use of orphan blocks. We went over to see a neighbour, and were presented with 5 beautiful, knitted baby quilts. They are each a treasury of knitting stitches, and can you see the words which have been embroidered into the corner? This one says, 'cosy and warm',

This one says 'cosy baby'

and so does this one!

Really sweet! thank you so much, Nohline. They are future heirlooms.
More kindness arrived in the post from the Isle of Man. A kind blogger sent me a bulging parcel of scraps and orphan blocks, in lovely bright and attracive colours! I feel a few Chinese coin quilts coming on here! Many thanks for your thoughtfulness.
Then, on my return to work after the summer holidays, a colleague gave me some blocks which her Brownie pack had made for Linus. (Apparently they found it quite hard, particularly as their 'string' kept coming off their 'pins'!)
I only need to make one more block and border it. Many thanks for the hard work, girls, as it was worth it, and the blocks will make a super baby quilt. Watch out for pictures of the finished article.
