Wonderful afternoon

On Wednesday I drove up to Shepshed (only a couple of junctions up the motorway) as I had been invited to the group 'Quilting Together'. They are the group who had made the particularly lovely Linus quilts, and they proved to be as welcoming as they are talented, and I had a lovely afternoon.

Here they are, minus a couple of members who are on holiday and plus Natasha who was just visiting with her grannie. They were all working on different projects, from bags to cross stitch, although they sometimes have demos and workshops. On the floor, you can see the contents of my rummage box. The ladies had already had a good rootle through it, and donated £7.60 towards the purchase of wadding. Many thanks ladies, and I'll see you again soon.

I just had a lovely scroll through pages and pages of quilts that have been made and given to children...wonderful! I like your running dialogue very much...just the right emphasis and a kind word for every quilt and thereby every quilter & giver...and that kindness is likely felt greatly as the children receive both a real present and a symbol of a circle of greater caring. Thank you.
