Exciting news!

I have recently bought a book which has lots of lovely quilts made from either Layer Cakes or Charm Squares. What really attracted me to the book - apart from the lovely quilt patterns - was the gorgeous scrappiness of them! I could easily see them making a dent in the boxes of fabric which have been donated to Project Linus.

Here is the book, by Carrie Nelson.

And here is the quilt I have made from it! It's called a Nice Day, and while it took me more than one day to assemble it, it was really quick to make. Each block calls for 4x10.5" squares, and makes two identical blocks (if that makes any sense!) finishing at an impressive 12.5" each! Good for using scraps and big blocks to knit up fast! What more could a quilter want?

Well, I contacted Carrie and she has generously given me permission to give away kits for the blocks with fabric and pattern included! How kind is that! There will be enough fabric to make two blocks, and the deal is that you send me your snailmail address, I send fabric and pattern, you make the blocks and return them to me to make up for Linus, and keep the pattern! What's not to like? I will choose the colour, so you will have a surprise, and you pay the return postage. Of course, if you're so pleased with the results that you want to buy the book and make more quilts for Linus - who's to stop you?
