Lots of activity

Project Linus continues to keep me out of mischief - well, pretty much! Last week, I met Rosemary from the Diana Service for Children with Life-Limiting Conditions at our usual haunt in the cinema car park and she took 8 large quilts for children who need to lie on the floor. We're both squinting in the bright sunlight, not reacting to the colours on the quilt!

Then it was straight into Leicester to the offices of Women's Aid, to take 21 quilts for the children in the refuges. We arrived just as a meeting was finishing, so there were plenty of important people willing to hold up a quilt (and to be impressed by them all too!)

So that makes a bit of space in my cupboard - for the moment at least. Today was the second Linus Sewing Afternoon in Lutterworth, and we had decided to make half square triangles out of the blue donated fabric. I had already cut lots of 5" squares and some 10" squares, and while Eileen diligently marked all the diagonals, Jackie and I sewed.

Here is the result. One hundred and sixty three half square triangles, not bad for a couple of hours' work, and the amount of chatting and tea drinking we did! 'But, that's not right,' I hear you say. 'You can't get an odd number of half square triangles.'

You can if you sew five of them on the wrong sides! Just off to fetch the unpicker!

Great job to all who made quilts...two very worthy causes! Fantastic!
