December sewing afternoon

I wasn't really expecting too many people at this month's sewing afternoon, as the weather here has been horrendous! Not only has it been bitterly cold, but we've also had thick snow. Jackie and I had decided to brave it, as we both live in the town, but we were delighted to see Eileen brave the country roads to join us! Jackie and I sewed, and Eileen ironed, cut, sorted fabric and generally kept us busy!

This month we deiced to sew strips together, as these blocks are easy to make and are so useful. Jackie chose purple and I chose pink, and we decided to have a competition to see who could do the most.

Here is the result - Lynda 13, Jackie 7. Looking at the two piles I can see why I won. I think maybe the pink strips were wider, so making the construction of 8.5" squares quicker! Never mind, it's for a very good cause.

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone connected with Linus (and those who aren't!) a very happy Christmas and a productive new year!
