New year, new ideas! In Lutterworth, Linus has joined forces with
Morsbags to run some 'Knit & Stitch' sessions every month. Rosie and Sue, who run the local Morsbag pod, found their venue wasn't too convenient, and while Jackie and I are very grateful to Sheilar for letting us use her workshop, it was really too small, so we have decided to all get together. We're all sewers (and knitters) and working for charity, so it makes perfect sense! The new sessions will be on the first
Thursday of every month, in the Methodist Church Parlour, Bitteswell Road, Lutterworth, from 2-4. The first one will be on 3rd February, and I have already had three enquiries from our newspaper advert, which is very encouraging. We will be making some simple windmill blocks and jackie and I have cut lots of strips ready. Very exciting!
I have already had Linus quilts donated this year. Adri's knitting group in Knighton sent 10 knitted quilts (sorry, no photos), and I collected several from Piecemakers.
This one was made by me, as a request from Clic-Sargent for a quilt in 'pink and purple' for an 8 year old cancer patient. Hope this fits the bill.
Ruth had been busy over the festive period and had made this pretty pastel quilt from squares and other leftovers,
and a bright one too!
Paula had taken this set of blue blocks home, and put them together beautifully.
Then she had fun with this pink sweetie fabric and some lime green to make this quilt which will not only brighten a child's day, but has brightened Paula's too!
Hope to see you on 3rd February, for a cuppa and a natter (plus a bit of sewing!)
