Knit & Stitch a resounding success!

Yesterday we had the first charity sewing and knitting afternoon in Lutterworth. It was a resounding success. Not only were there 32 people crammed into the room, but there was a lovely atmosphere, with people chatting and having a pleasant afternoon away from the stresses and strains of 'life', which is one of the many advantages of craft work.

Here is a view from the door, which gives you an idea of the popularity of this session!

Some people hand sewed some hexagons into rosettes - they will look lovely on a baby quilt - and others had brought their machines and were sewing windmill blocks for Linus. We had a kind of production line going, with Ruth and I pressing and cutting, which resulted in 42 blocks being completed in the two hours, and with the blocks that Rosie had brought along and the part ones I took home with me, there were 60 blocks, which is enough for 3 Linus quilts! Several sewers were first time piecers, and did an amazing job!
Here are some of the blocks, along with my 'Blue Peter' on my design wall . (And the even better thing is that I had two volunteers to make them up! Thank you Ann and Stephanie!)

Rosie had volunteers making Morsbags. She was pleased that six were completed, and promptly gave them all away!

Sue was kept busy with the knitters, and she was relieved that there were no beginners, as it has been a long time since she taught anyone to knit! I'm sure she was up to the task, although she had much the largest group, all knitting little hearts for charity.

Here's another group of knitters concentrating hard. My thanks to all those people who came, and I look forward to seeing you again on March 3rd!
