More donations - and blocks!

I've been very remiss about updating the blog, but a gentle reminder from Mandy has given me the impetus to do it. It's not as if things have been quiet on the Linus from - far from it! Mandy has taken 17 quilts to the Looked After Children's Services (no photo, unfortunately) and I have given quilts to the Diana Service and Adapt. Rosemary from the Diana Service rang me to ask if I had a quilt suitable for a 14 year old boy who was going in for a bone marrow transplant. I was able to say 'yes' thanks to the football blocks we made at 'Knit and Stitch', and Nicola came round to collect this quilt and 5 other larger ones, for older children.

Here she is, holding up a gorgeous quilt made by Sarah from Australian fabrics. Then Sue from Adapt came to collect 33 quilts - some prem ones and some cot ones - along with some knitted triangles and bonnets which had been made at 'Knit and Stitch'.
Sue has been so taken with the quilts that she has decided to make a quilt of her own! Watch this space for further details!
Then, on Thursday, we had another session of 'Knit and Stitch'. Despite the fact that Sue was away, the knitters were able to cope!

I took away a carrier bag full of things they have knitted. What talented and generous people!
Rosie made three Morsbags. Only Eileen and Anne were hand sewers, and Eileen kindly took all the papers from a hexagon quilt so it's ready to border and quilt, while Anne made yellow strippy blocks.
Paula and Julie continued making Dutchman's Puzzle blocks, and Stephanie finished a set of pastel mile a minute blocks, so they are ready to be joined up. Here is the design wall with some of the blocks made that day, and here is an arrangement of enough blocks to make a quilt! This one will be great for an older boy. Here's to the next session on July 7th!
