Sewing day at Walcote!

On 17th April we had a Project Linus sewing day at Walcote Village Hall.  Twenty five people came over to support us, and the sewing machines hummed with the kits and blocks being whipped up into hugs!  Some quilts and tops were finished on the day, but lots of people took their projects home to finish them.

Here are some of the quilts and tops assembled on the day.Apart from our main purpose of making Linus quilts, everyone had a lovely day. It is always good to get together with likeminded people, share ideas and learn from each other.  We are all so lucky to be part of such a wonderful community!  Thank you all!

Time ticks on

I still haven't resolved my computer issues, and updating the blog is much more time consuming, so, I have been putting it off!  Here is a photo taken in April at Ward 11 when Jan and I braved the hospital car park queues to take 30 quilts in.

The staff don't look very happy, but believe me, they were!

Then I was contacted by Aimee from the Diana service for 25 quilts.  We meet in Wigston Tesco's car park, which seems to work very well. Aimee was very admiring of the quilts and loved all the different patterns and fabrics.  (She also asked whether I made all the quilts, and I was very happy to tell her that I had a lot of helpers!)
