A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by Baby basics, as they had bid for some money and used it to buy 100 cots for bedless babies! But they wanted some quilts to snuggle the babies in, so I went over the Enderby to take 50 quilts. Here I am handing them over.
Then Paula, Julie and I went on our annual visit to Quilting Together in Shepshed, where the ladies presented us with 60 quilts! They quilt all year round and save them all for Linus. We go up to Shepshed, take some fabric to help them out and then drink tea and eat cake while they take fabric they dont need but covet!
Here they are, in piles of ten. That will fill my cupboard again! All the quilts were lovely, but here are a few which took my eye.
This one particularly impressed me. The top, middle and bottom row is made from those sets of little pictures which people impulse buy and then donate, because they dont know what to do with them. Jan has used them so they look integral to the design and are enhancing the quilt. Clever people! See you next year!
